I’m just me, endeavoring to age gracefully. I am a process artist, meaning that the creative processes are more important to me than the finished product. I have been a studio artist painting primarily with watermedia such as watercolor and acrylics although I also did a fair amount of oil painting. My favorite activity, though, was painting on the computer. I could simulate all the natural media. At my website at www.lair-wildscape.com I have a number of exhibition galleries, namely studio art, digital art, digital collage, Fractal art, a cloth doll gallery, and a photography gallery as well as a creative writing page.
I have kept a journal for many years and that developed in the past into published writings in various specialty magazines, poems published in various poetry journals, and my art dolls and art paper dolls have been published in several magazines on those subjects while my digital paintings have appeared in several editions of the excellent Painter Wow! series books by Cher Threinen-Pendarvis, my personal highest artistic achievement.
Now I focus on textile arts and in the past several years have learned to spin on hand spindles and spinning wheels and am presently beginning to learn to weave on a Rigid Heddle loom, one of the less complicated looms but one that offers almost endless variety of creative opportunity. I also knit and crochet. A magical, joyful creative outlet is making cloth art dolls, something I learned to do in Internet classes.
I am a bird watcher and nature lover and my husband and I developed our ranch for wildlife preservation. We have a grown son and daughter who continue to challenge me to grow and learn.
